I'm Bored.Online Shopping Commences.

Whenever I am bored, I always seem to go to my computer. Besides the everyday facebook and pinterest encounter I always look for cute things online.

It's not like I have the money at all to shop online. I mean I don't have money to shop in stores. I still like to look.....

So today I was bored because I am currently out of work and out of school until Tuesday. I also have no money whatsoever so I decided to look on my computer. Lets just say my bookmarks tab is full just from today alone.

My cousin is getting married in November in Dallas and I want a new dress for her wedding. Well I found one. Guess what. It's $80.00. I don't care, I will own this dress.

Clearly, I like to think ahead. I also found a marvelous pair of lace shorts for summer from Sabo Skirt. I mean you can ALWAYS think ahead right?

Also, because I had so much time on my hands I decided to clean my closet out. You know I found about a billion things I didn't want in exchange for all of the things I found online today. I wish I had a million dollars....to start. I would make my closet very happy ( like it's a real being).

I wish I didn't have a shopping addiction because then my problems would all be solved. I wouldn't have more clothes than an entire family and I wouldn't be in debt up to my forehead (up to my eyeballs is not far enough).

Now I'm supposed to be traveling a lot this year. I want to go to Paris to visit my old college roommate, Virgina Beach for a bridesmaid getaway with my bff (who's getting married in September), A trip to West Virginia for said wedding, and Dallas for my cousin's wedding.

How am I supposed to afford all of that and get a few new outfits for said trips?

I need to go before I actually try to buy something.

Happy Shopping!

Wow. Now I Wish I was Famous

So I am currently watching the Golden Globes and am fiercly jealous of all of these beautiful gowns that are being paraded down the red carpet. It got me thinking.

I wonder if I could find red carpet style for the everyday women.

One of my absolute favorite websites to shop on is ASOS. They sell everyday clothing as well as wedding dresses, prom dresses, and evening dresses.

I started to search and found one that looks Golden Globes- worthy.

Here is one that I fell in love with almost instantly.

So I decided to keep looking because I know that there are more dresses like this one, which is only $82.99!

I looked at simplydresses.com and found another dress that is absolutely to die for! It is so elegant and beautiful. It is a little more expensive at $198.00, but well worth it.

So now that I know I can find beautiful dresses almost as amazing as the ones these celebs are wearing, I don't have the urge to become a famous celebrity......yet.

Happy Shopping!

Soft Skin = Amazing Skin

I always seem to get very dry skin during the winter months. I can't seem to find very many products that will take care of it.

One of my absolute favorite products is from The Body Shop. You can check it out here.

It is absolutely amazing for my dry cracked hands. When I went into The Body Shop to check it out, the person helping me told me of a regimen that I should try.

She told me to use a sugar/salt scrub to clean off all of the dead skin before putting this lotion on. It worked wonders.

A few years ago I came across a few very good recipes for moisturizing products.

I learned how to make my own scrub, which was nice because I could add what ever I wanted to it.

Centsational Girl has a great recipe for Lavender Salt Scrub. You can find it here.

The two things together have worked wonders for me and I hope they can do the same for you!

Think Ebay.

I am really weird and like all of my items new. I have always sold things to a resale shop, but had never bought anything.

Recently, I have gotten into the whole resale idea. The Chicago area has some great vintage resale shops, as well as high end resale.

Another thing I have been getting into recently is Ebay. I have found a few great deals on Ebay and most of the things that I have bought have been in great shape.

Ebay is another great way to get that designer item you have been dying to own, at an amazing price.

Since I have moved to Chicago I have learned that you need to invest in a good pair of rain boots. I really like Burberry's boots. Here is a great pair on Ebay.

They look similar to these:

Many designer items on Ebay have to be verified by the website. They make it a huge deal that there are no counterfeit items on their page.

Another great item I found on Ebay this week is from one of my absolute favorite designers, Tory Burch. This bag is very classy and chic.

If you look hard enough, many of the items on Ebay are brand new. So instead of going to the department store to get this same bag, you can get it on Ebay for cheap!

Hi My Name is Amanda and I am a Self Professed Shopaholic

The main reason I decided to start a blog about cheap fashion is because I went through a period of my life when I thought I NEEDED everything that I saw.

When I turned eighteen, my bank offered me a credit card and I decided to take it because I wanted to establish credit for myself. Little did I know that it would be the worst decision of my life.

It was Thanksgiving weekend and we all know what happens that weekend. People go insane trying to find the best deals out there. I also went totally insane and opened up about 7 credit cards all in one day. I also spent a large amount of money on pretty much all of them.

As I dug through the bags of high end items that I bought, I smiled and was excited that I could finally get all of the things I had dreamed of buying!

Once I recieved the bills in the mail, I knew that I made a mistake. Since then, I have been on a mission to help people just like me get the things that they like, but for cheap prices.

My mantra now is if you want something, walk away and find something similar, but much cheaper. I do splurge every once in awhile. Actually, I just bought this skirt yesterday and didn't feel bad about it at all!

I hope that you learn from my mistakes and shop smart!

Always Look for the Steal!

So the other day I was shopping with my mom and decided to check out the sale that Express had to offer. I normally always shop there during this sale because it is usually always crazy expensive.

As I scanned the section with my sizes I found a very cute sweater. The original price on the tag said $98.00. WOW. The sale price was $48.00 with an extra 30% off. As I grabbed the sweater I noticed a huge rip down the seam. I asked the saleswoman if I could get any money off because of the rip. She offered another 10% off of the sweater. ( Always ask to get more money off of damaged goods. Most stores will give you the discount because they don't want to damage it out.)

I walked out of Express with a sweater that cost me about $30.00. Not so bad for sweater that was originally almost $100!

Here it is:

There are also many more ways to find a steal. After I watched a segment on E! News I found a few great sites to check out!

If you are the type of person who likes to use coupons, I would recommend the website Krazy Coupon Lady . There are coupons for everything on this site. Even for clothing! This website offers free items, coupons, tips, and where to look for deals.

Another great website to check out is Savvy . Savvy allows you to scan an item, like clothing and accessories, and if that item's price has changed, it makes sure that you recieve the best price possible for that item. How cool is that!! Savvy also allows you to scan something you want, but can't afford it at that time, and when that item's price goes down, Savvy will send you an alert!

One more great idea is to check out different designers manufacturer websites. Sometimes they offer coupons or specials for some of their products. Sometimes they may even offer rebates as well!

Happy Shopping!

Sales You Don't Think Exist

Many people think that because it is designer, it doesn't go on sale. Wrong. I actually had no idea until one day I looked up a bag that I had been drooling over by Marc Jacobs. I had noticed that a dress that was conviently placed near the purse I was browsing had been 60% off. WHAT?!?! I thought I was dreaming. The best place to find these amazing deals in online. Plus, you don't have to deal with the crazies at the stores. The best time to look is after Christmas because that is when most designers put out their spring lines. Here are some of the great deals that I found!

Marc Jacobs

These are just a few items that I found for decent prices. I'm sure you also know that many stores have their "Semi-Annual Sale" around this time and it is a great time to stock up on your favorites and search for those perfect finds!
